Chase released her first solo album in October 2009, featuring world premiere recordings by emerging composers from the US, Japan, Argentina, Mexico and China. “Aliento” (Spanish: “breath”) explores both the essential and the experimental use of breath in a tour de force program of 21st century works for flute by an exciting international group of young composers with whom Chase has worked closely over the past several years: Nathan Davis and Jason Eckardt (US), Du Yun (China), Dai Fujikura (Japan), Marcelo Toledo (Argentina), Edgar Guzmán (Mexico).
